بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

Sedekah.com is a crowdfunding site for Muslims around the world. Based in Jakarta, it allows organizations and individuals to seek financial supports for anything they consider good for their lives. Our goal is to mobilize financial resources of the Muslims and to promote effective use of their wealth for the best causes.

Sedekah.com accommodates every kind of projects or ideas as long as they are for good causes and properly presented. Our staff staff will review all projects against these two criteria prior to letting them go live. The project categories range from dawah to education, from medical support to disaster recovery, from orphanage to helping the needy. There is no restriction on the types of projects you can propose for funding.

Worldwide Funders

Anyone in the world can join the crowd of funders (no country-specific restriction). We require however they have valid credit cards. This policy is aimed at ensuring adult-only participation and preventing malicious transactions from entering our system. The controls for eliminating frauds or ensuring proper use of the platform rest with the contributors. We recommend that they only donate to projects from owners whom they know and trust. This doesn't require personal intimacy. Some diligence and common sense should do.

Ties strengthening

The basic role of charity is linking the rich and the poor. This process will make us as members of the global Muslim community feel closer to each other. In other words, people who care about others and share a portion of their wealth with those in need are more likely to feel connected with the less fortunate than those who stand aside. Similarly, those who receive donations will keep in mind the fact that their dreams have come true because of donors' help.

Effective use of wealth

In Islam, redundancy is not an ideal status for wealth. It must be used to generate value. For instance, a piece of idle property only generates low returns. But once it is used for residential or business purposes, it's value goes up substantially. It is similar for cash. If you keep it in the bank, it generates a small return. But if you give it to someone then you see the difference.
